When disillusionment arises in intimate relationships, we tend to misinterpret the experience – not recognising that this might be telling us something about ourselves. We are the ones who wanted a knight in shining armour, or a Dalai Lama with contact lenses – and when the person we are with turns out to be – shock, horror – HUMAN, we are devastated.
