I am always a bit sceptical reading about women’s issues when the author is a man – how can they really know? But I found The Perfect Menopause answered many questions that I wanted to know, and explained the differences between natural, synthetic and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy very clearly. Similarly, it was really good to get more of an understanding about the ‘infamous’ WHI 2002 and 2004 reports on the effects of HRT. Dr Hess defines drugs and natural therapies that might be useful for women going through the ‘menopause process’, information which I am sure many women will find exceedingly helpful. The chapters Dramatically Improve Your Sexual Desire and You Can Have a Better Night’s Sleep were also both very informative.
