MEDIA RELEASE
Diving Into Everything New!
Change is afoot and The Art of Healing, never shy about diving in, has embraced what is on offer which includes changing their Australian distribution to Fairfax Media Publication Solutions (FMPS), launching digital downloads via international media provider Zinio, and building more intimate contact with their database using social media.
According to Adam Gray of FMPS, niche publications serve a highly targeted and pre-qualified group of people, providing quality information that fills a need for readers. Adam heads up a newly-created distribution department at FMPS which has identified that niche publications are a valuable business opportunity.
“Interest-based (professional and/or personal) magazines have increased in popularity in recent years” he said. “They can really be a demographer’s dream, because once a niche magazine builds up its database, that audience becomes a valuable, targetable list of names in a specific vertical market. As a result, product marketers who want to sell to that audience segment can advertise in the magazine to a captive audience” he continued.
“Perhaps what is most remarkable about niche magazine brands is their ability to serve extremely narrow audiences and still survive… and in many cases prosper. Niche magazines offer intimate, focused and thoroughly vetted brands because via specialised content, design and brand promise, they appeal to the specific values of limited segments of people. This sense of exclusivity creates a strong customer connection which is more than is possible with larger, more generalised magazine brands.”
The Art of Healing is also proud to announce the availability of digital downloads through their website. “This means that customers can now choose how they want to receive and read the magazine” says Editor/Publisher Catherine Mercer. “We are still printing as many hard copy magazines as previously - in fact, the number we are printing is actually increasing. But it is just terrific to be able to also offer our customers flexibility in the way they receive information.” The current issue of The Art of Healing will be available in digital format, along with 3 back issues. One and two year subscriptions are also available, and these can be downloaded to PC or MAC, iPad and iPhone via the Zinio application.
The Art of Healing is also taking advantage of new ways to have more regular dialogue with their customers through social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn. A free e-newsletter is sent out every month if you want to tap into what is available. Just go to their website at ww.theartofhealing.com.au and click on the Join Our Newsletter banner.
