Artist: George Rrurrambu
George Rurrambu is a pioneer of Indigenous Australian music with 20 years experience in the music industry. George is best known as the front man in the Warumpi band which began in the early 80s. His recording career began in 1983 with the single “Jailanguru Pakarnu”, which was the first rock song ever released in an Aboriginal language. A lot of the songs on Nerbu Message are dedications including The Creation Song, for the spirits that come up from the land, and Ronu Wanga (My Island Home) dedicated to the mothers on his island home. Unfortunately, George passed away very recently. Our condolences go to his family and friends.
