Artist: The Hottentots
The
Hottentots are a duo - Carl Cleves singer, guitarist and Parissa
Bouas singer and percussionist (extraordinaire). Categorised loosely
under the folk genre, their base style stems from Gaelic/Irish. On
this latest CD you can expect songs that move your feet and raise
your spirit including their ASA award winning song "The
Bethlehem Bell Ringer". Musicians contributing to this album include
English songwriter and harmonica player Rory McLeod, cavaquinho
player Doug De Vries, Cleis Pierce and Peter Grayling on strings,
John Hoffman and Marc Spencer on horns, Andrew Clermont on mandolin,
percussionist Tunji Beier and many more. Debra Manskey from
Australian Songwriter Sept 2004 describes this CD as "essentially .
acoustic music - exceptionally well written music and lyrics,
